About Japrung Lab

The Japrung Lab is a leading research group in Thailand specializing in solid-state nanopore technology development. Our focus is on cutting-edge research in Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) biomarkers and nanosensor technology. Our mission is to unravel the mechanisms of NCD biomarkers, including albumin protein and non-coding RNAs like miRNA and lncRNA.

As pioneers in the field, we are dedicated to advancing the understanding of NCD biomarkers through our research. With a team of experienced professionals, we are committed to achieving our mission and making a positive impact in the field of NCD biomarker research.

Principle Investigator (PI)

Dr.Deanpen Japrung is PI at Japrung Lab. With over 10 years of experience in the field of NCD biomarker research, Dr. Japrung is a leading expert in the field. She has published numerous articles in prestigious scientific journals and is committed to advancing the understanding of NCD biomarkers.

Dr. Ibrar Alam

Post-doc

Dr. Ibrar Alam is currently a Postdoc in Japrung Lab, working on developement of Solid-state nanopore for detection of protein and DNA/RNA biomarkers.

Ms. Chayachon Apiwat

PhD Student 

Ms. Chayachon Apiwat is a PhD student in Chemistry Department, Kasetsart University, Bangkok Thailand. She is TGIST scholarship and supevised by Ass. Prof. Patraporn and Japrung Lab. Her thesis work is focusing on study lectin profiling of human serum albumin and development of albumin isolation method using graphen based method.

Ms. Kiatnida Treerattrakoon 

PhD Student

Ms. Kiatnida Treerattrakoon is a PhD stdent at Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, Technology and Innovation Center, Universiyt of Strathclyde, Glassgow, UK. She is Strathclyde University-NSTDA Sandwich PhD program supervised by Prof. Duncan Graham and  Japrung Lab. Her work is focusing on development of SERS based nanosensor for detection of diabetes mellitus biomarker.

Ms.Chanya Archapraditkul

PhD Student 

Ms. Chanya Archapraditkul is PhD student in Department of Chemistry, Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand. She has obtained NSTDA-KU MOU scholarship, supervised by Assoc.Prof. Prapasiri Pongprayoon and Japrung Lab. Her study is focusing on structure and function of albumin protein in secretion bodies in order to understand and development of nanosensor for screening and monitoring of the diabetes mellitus and chronic kidney disease.

PhD Student

Ms. Sirin Sittiwanichai is a PhD student in Chemistry department, Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand. She has obtained Royal Jubilee Scholarship supervised by Assoc. Prof. Prapasiri Pongprayoon and Japrung Lab. Her work is focusing on studying NCD biomarkers (Albumin and miRNA) structures in order to promote nanosensor developement platform.

Ms.Pimporn Roeksrungruang

PhD Student

Ms. Pimporn Roeksrungruang is a PhD student in Multidisciplinary Program of Medical Microbiology, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. She has obtained NSTDA-CU MOU scholarship supervised by Assoc.Prof.Kanitha Patarakul and Japrung lab. Her work is about Development of Nanosensor-on-a-chip for Analysis of Colon Cancer Circulating DNA/RNA Biomarkers.

Mr. Kawin Loha

PhD Student

Mr. Kawin Loha is a PhD student in the school of Biomolecular Science and Engineering, Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC), Rayong, Thailand. He has obtained NSTDA-VISTEC MOU scholarship, supervied by Prof. Albert Schulte and Japrung Lab. His study is about development of solid state nanopore sensors for biomolecule detection.  

PhD Student

Mr. Piyawat Pitikultham is a PhD student in CAS Key Laboratory of Nanosystem and Hierarchical Fabrication, CAS Center for Excellence in Nanoscience, National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, Beijing, China. He is supervised by Prof.Baoquan Ding and Japrung Lab. His project is about development of isothermal detectio platform for miRNA anlysis for cancer screening.

Ms.Wassa Waiwinya

PhD Student

Ms. Wassa Waiwinya is a PhD student in Multidisciplinary Program of Medical Microbiology, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. Her work is focusing on development of simple nanosensor platform for Leptospirosis screening. She is supervised by Assoc.Prof.Kanitha Patarakul and Japrung lab.

Mr. Poramin Boonbanjong

PhD Student

Mr. Poramin Boonbanjong is a PhD student in Program in Translational Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. He has obtained TGIST scholarship, supervised by Asst. Prof. Nuankanya Sathirapongsasuti and Japrung lab. His work is about development of lncRNA-PCA3 analysis using alpha hemolysin nanopore sensor for prostate cancer screening in body secretions.
